AVERAGE SCORE

Multiple teams try to win by averaging their combined scores on each hole

Two or four person teams play against the rest of the competitors using their individual gross scores as a means of determining their team score. Each player’s score is added to their partners and divided by the number on the team to establish an average that becomes the team score for the hole.

After completing the round, one-half of the teams combined handicap (1/4 of handicaps for four person teams) is deducted from their 18-hole total to determine their net score. Half strokes count as whole strokes after totaling. Competition is won or lost by comparing the difference in the team net scores. The game could be designed around a Nassau format or even modified for Match Play.
