CAPTURE THE FLAG
Plant a flag on the course when you reach the number of strokes equal to par + your handicap
Players compete in stroke play where the object is to carry a flag around the course as far as possible. How far a player gets to carry their flag is determined by the number of strokes allocated to them. This is determined by adding par for the course to your handicap. For example, if the course rating is 72 and your handicap is 12, your stoke allocation is 84.
Once a player has completed the number of strokes equal to par plus their handicap, they plant their flag. (If you’re on the green, place the flag on the edge. In the rough, plant in on the edge of the fairway)
If a competitor passes your flag with strokes remaining, they capture it. The last flag placed is the winner. (It’s especially fun to plant your flag on the 19th hole!)
If more than one player still holds their flag at the conclusion of the round, the winner is the player who has the most
remaining handicap strokes. A playoff method should be agreed to before the round starts in the event two players complete their rounds with the exact same remaining strokes. For fun, you can also handle this situation by marking off one club length for each remaining stroke from a designated location off the 18th green (preferably in public view).
