NINETY NINE (not to be confused with Nines)

2 person teams where each player is responsible for scores on 9 holes only

This is a strategy best ball game in partner format in multiple teams. Each player is responsible to post a net score on 9 holes of the 18-hole match. Teammates choose which player posts a score on each hole as the round progresses. After holing out and before teeing off on the next hole, the team decides which partner’s score to post on the card. This continues until either player has posted a total of 9 holes. Scores on the remaining holes must then be completed by their partner.

Winning the game requires good judgment and strategy. For example, it might be smarter to post a par from the higher handicapper than a birdie from the lower because the lower handicapper is more likely to score pars through the round.
