HOT POTATO

Win or lose by NOT posting the worst score

Rotating players hold the hot potato on each tee, and must score better than the worst of the remaining players in the foursome to avoid losing points.

Choose a fixed order for teeing off before starting the round and follow it throughout the 18-hole match. The first person to tee off on each hole is designated to hold the “hot potato” on each hole. If their net score is not the worst, they win a point. If it is the worst score, a point each is earned by each of their competitors. No points are earned or lost for halving a hole. In this game if the person with the “hot potato” ties anyone, there are no points lost.
