YARDAGE
The number of yards on a hole won is your score
Like the game of Nevada, Yardage can become very expensive if you aren’t careful with the dollar value placed on points. Best played with net scores, players or teams are awarded points equal the number of yards on each hole won. No points are awarded for “halved” holes and there are no carryovers.
For example, if you win a 550-yard par 5, the points won are 550. If you are betting $1 per point, that’s a cool $550.00. Ok, so maybe 10 cents might be a little safer? Make that par 5 worth $55.00. Still swallowing hard?…. a penny a point makes loss of this hole a mere $5.50.
Some variations can make it more interesting, but more risky as well. You can agree at the start of the game that if an opponent falls behind by a certain number of points, they are allowed to:
1) double the point value, and/or 2) call for carryovers.
