About the Course
Ranked 30th in Spain by Golf World, Campo Europa is the youngest of La Cala Resort's three championship courses, having hosted the Ladies European Tour Q-School and the Spanish Professional Pairs Championship—a proving ground where future champions earned their stripes. The resort itself stands as the 73rd best golf resort globally and 13th in Europe according to Golf World, with Europa establishing itself as a benchmark since opening in 2005 on Costa del Sol. The river Ojén cuts through three fairways and influences play on eight holes, connected by one main bridge and four smaller crossings that weave mountain terrain with valley drama. The 14th delivers a knockout punch—a 233-meter par-3 with water guarding the front of the green—while the 3rd similarly demands strategic nerve over water. Positioned at elevations exceeding 120 meters against the Andalusian mountain range, the course creates a three-dimensional canvas where river, canyon, and distant peaks frame every shot. While Europa offers the most generous fairways and largest greens among La Cala's trio, its precisely placed water hazards and bunkers ensure a comprehensive test of long-iron accuracy and course management thinking.
