About the Course
Real Club Valderrama has been consistently ranked as number 1 in Continental Europe since the late 80's and has been included in the Top 100 in the World since 1990. In 1997, it hosted the Ryder Cup, the first time the event had been held in Continental Europe outside the United Kingdom and the United States. Team Europe won the competition under the captainship of Seve Ballesteros. The fourth hole, La Cascada, is the course's signature hole. It is a par 5 with a pond to the right of the two-tiered green. The 17th hole is a natural amphitheater of golf where the bowl-shaped landscape surrounding the green allows for up to seven thousand spectators.
