About the Course
A three-time host of the PGA Tour's Bob Hope Classic (2006-2008), The Classic Club earned recognition as America's 7th Best Course state-by-state in 2008 by GolfWeek and received the 'Resort Course of Distinction' award. Located in Palm Desert, this course is renowned for its 30 acres of water features and over 5,000 pine trees—creating a forest-like ambiance reminiscent of courses east of the Mississippi, making it one of Southern California's most distinctive visual experiences in the desert. Water comes into play on 14 holes, with many fairways sloping toward hazards that demand precision off the tee. The 12th hole stands as the signature photo opportunity: a 160-yard par-3 surrounded by waterfalls, including cascading features behind the green, testing both distance control and nerve. The 10th, the course's shortest par-3, is equally memorable—a large lake and waterfall nearly encircle the green, leaving minimal margin for error. With over 150 bunkers and persistent desert winds challenging shot-making, every round becomes a tactical chess match, earning its place among Desert Golf's Top 10 Desert Courses.
