About the Course
Awarded Golf Digest's prestigious 4-½ Star rating, Steele Canyon stands as one of only three golf clubs so honored in San Diego County and is renowned for having some of the purest putting greens in Southern California. Designed by legendary golfer Gary Player, the 27-hole championship facility features three distinct nine-hole courses—Canyon, Ranch, and Vineyard—each with its own personality and challenges. The Ranch nine's third hole serves as the course's signature—perched 175 feet above the fairway and playing into prevailing crosswinds, it ranks among San Diego County's most memorable holes. The fourth hole earned its nickname 'Goosebumps' for its panoramic canyon vistas. The Canyon nine climbs into two natural canyons with dramatic elevation changes and heavy pot-bunkering that test shot-making skills at every turn. Meanwhile, the Meadow nine drifts through pastoral valleys enhanced by streams, woodlands, and native wildlife, creating a golf journey filled with natural surprises.
