About the Course
As the youngest member of the PGA West family, the Norman Course has served as a proving ground for elite competition since its 1999 debut—hosting PGA Tour Qualifying School stages and The Prestige collegiate invitational, where future stars like Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, and Viktor Hovland sharpened their skills. This is the only Greg Norman design in the Coachella Valley and PGA West's most distinctive desert-style layout, using just 68 acres of turf (half that of other courses) and 102 white crushed marble bunkers to create a precision-driven challenge. The 216-yard par-3 13th commands attention with shark blue water lurking short, right, and long, plus 8 bunkers surrounding the green—widely regarded as the course's most memorable hole. The tempting short par-4 10th invites long hitters to attack the green despite bunker minefields, while the 15th features a staggering 13 bunkers flanking the fairway. With water in play on 9 holes (nearly always right side) and fairways that narrow dramatically approaching greens, the course layers desert waste areas and sand fortresses to test not just distance, but strategic thinking and nerve.
