About the Course
A flagship public course jointly created by the Washington State Golf Association and Pacific Northwest Golf Association, The Home Course earned Golfweek's recognition as Washington's No. 2 public course just one year after opening. In 2010, it partnered with Chambers Bay to host the U.S. Amateur Championship, and in 2014 hosted the final U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links, establishing itself as a regular venue for USGA national championships. Built on the site of DuPont's former dynamite manufacturing plant, the course unfolds with panoramic views of Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountains, and Puget Sound. The 434-yard 7th hole 'Rainer' presents a green fronted by a lake that mirrors the snow-capped peak, demanding precise calculation of both water hazard and wind. The 466-yard 13th 'Head Wind' requires extra power against the prevailing Pacific breeze on every shot. Apple trees planted by Hudson's Bay settlers in the 1830s line the fairways, while remnants of Fort Nisqually rest within black fencing. Dynamite-shaped tee markers pay homage to the land's industrial past, weaving history and golf into a unique narrative.
