About the Course
Awarded a four-star rating by Golf Digest and ranked 47th overall among Canada's public and private courses in 2002, Whirlpool Golf Course also earned recognition as the country's 4th best golfing value that same year. Since opening in 1951, the course has hosted professional tournaments including the Canadian Tour's Tour Championship and The Niagara Classic, with over 11,000 competitive rounds played annually. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Niagara River Whirlpool and Gorge, the course features six holes stretched across a unique plateau, adding thrilling elevation challenges. The redesigned 2nd hole, completely guarded by a pond, stands as a signature test, while the par-3 6th offers breathtaking views over the swirling river waters below. Five distinctive par-3 holes (3rd, 6th, 12th, 14th, and 17th) showcase strategic bunkering, with rolling fairways and tactically placed hazards creating memorable shot-making against one of nature's most spectacular settings.
