About the Course
Host to 30 Canadian Open Championships—more than any other course—Glen Abbey Golf Course stands as the most important stage in Canadian professional tour history. Since its inaugural tournament in 1977, this course has witnessed championship moments from Greg Norman, Nick Price, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and Jason Day, establishing itself as the spiritual home of the PGA TOUR in Canada. Golf Canada's headquarters and the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame reside here, underscoring its unparalleled significance. The most famous hole is the 11th—featuring the greatest elevation drop of any hole on TOUR at 150 feet. Players tee off from a clifftop to a fairway 60 feet below in the valley, creating a visually stunning experience. The 'Valley Holes' (11-15) wind through a ravine along Sixteen Mile Creek, surrounded by towering maples and requiring five creek crossings. The short par-5 18th has delivered countless dramatic finishes. The course radiates from a central clubhouse like wheel spokes—purposefully designed to challenge the world's best while offering optimal spectator viewing, embodying what a tour-built venue should be.
